James Douglas Lycett

Tetraploid *JAMES DOUGLAS LYCETT (Lynne Cooper x Admirals Braid 2-97) 28" Mid-Late. Dormant-Semi-Evergreen. Fragrant. Recurrent. Fertile. This plant bloomed the first time a year before Douglas died. It was from an important cross of over 500 seedlings. Twelve made it through that first winter. Several were special. Douglas thought this was spectacular. This plant has it all: it is recurrent, fragrant, has 39 buds on 6 way branching, and it is a very beautiful 5" bloom of cream with a yellow centre, a green heart and a prominent yellow, very ruffled edge. I can’t think of a more special plant to name for Douglas.
